NCIS season 16 episode 5 spoilers: The powerful story of ‘Fragments’

NCIS season 16 episode 5
season 16 episode 5 carries with it the title of “Fragments,” and we should go ahead and tell you that this one is going to be emotional. While this show is far from a courtroom drama, there could be elements in this particular hour that feel like that. After all, the NCIS team will be helping out a man who has spent the past several decades of his life behind bars for a crime he did not commit. Can you imagine what that is like, and how it must feel for a man like that? Can you also imagine what he would do on the outside?

Below, CarterMatt has the full NCIS season 16 episode 5 synopsis with some more scoop all about what lies ahead:

“Fragments” – After a 50-year-old tape recording left by a murder victim is found, the NCIS team tries to exonerate Ray Jennings (Charlie Robinson), the Marine serving a life sentence for the crime, on NCIS, Tuesday, Oct. 23 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

If we are to assume that Ray finds a way to get to the other side of this prison sentence, fingers crossed that the writers also find a way to offer up some hope towards his future. One of the things that is often forgot about in the midst of all the headlines that are out there in this world is what happens to some of these men and women after exoneration, as they live in a world where their reputation and lives are forever changed, at times due to factors that are dramatically beyond their control. It’s a painful thing to think about.
