The Resident season 2 episode 5 spoilers: Making dreams come true

The Resident

The bad news about The Resident season 2 episode 5 is simply having to wait until October 22 in order to see it. The episode we’re discussing here is entitled “The Germ,” and it seems like there could be some rather-fun moments in here amidst the typical pain and heartbreak. (These emotions are unavoidable within the walls of the hospital.) Conrad and Nic will be working within this episode in order to make a young child’s wish come true. Beyond just that, there will also be a story regarding Julian Booth that has her both in lockstep with Dr. Bell and in opposition potentially with AJ. There is also a budding relationship happening between her and Devon, and that is something that could have a particularly-shocking outcome based on how events play out over the course of the coming weeks.

Leading up to all of this, what CarterMatt can share (for now) is the official The Resident season 2 episode 5 synopsis:

When Bell makes the executive call to utilize Julian Booth’s (guest star Jenna Dewan) medical devices, rather than the hospital’s usual products, Kit and AJ must stop their momentary feuding in order to team up against him. Elsewhere in the hospital, Conrad and Nic work to make a child’s dreams come true after finding out his cancer has returned and the rest of the staff takes notice of Julian and Devon’s new friendship.

Hopefully in reading this, what you will see is precisely how messy Devon’s personal life could end up becoming throughout the second season. If the staff is “taking notice” of a friendship, that typically means they are suspecting it could be transforming into something more. That is not exactly a good thing here, given that Julian has the sort of job that could cost the hospital a great deal of money. It’s one thing if they are purchasing medical devices from her that are necessary for saving lives; it’s a different thing altogether if they are purchasing things that are extraneous and fueled in part by a personal relationship.
