Vikings season 5 episode 11 teaser features darkness, destruction

Vikings season 6 renewalThere’s no denying it: The wait for Vikings season 5 episode 11 has been exhausting. Many months have transpired since this season last aired, and these characters are going to have to dust themselves off and prepare for more.

It’s clear that we have seen many a gruesome battle already — there’s been chaos, there’s been bloodshed, and there is only going to be so much more in the remaining ten episodes this season. Did you really think that the chaos was going to slow down? Think again.

The teaser below does not give away major spoilers from the upcoming episodes premiering next week, but it presents a battlefield decorated with violence, destruction, and of course despair. This is a bloody batch of episodes coming where no characters are going to be safe. Even though Vikings may be based on history, somehow Michael Hirst has conjured up a way to inject suspense over the fate of many of his characters. Given that the series persevered through the death of Ragnar (Travis Fimmel), anything really goes from here on out. There is certainly reason to worry about Lagertha, who was prepared to die at the end of season 5A, but there is equal reason to be fearful for others.

As a viewer, it’s pretty easy to get your blood pumping for what’s next with more violence, more Viking politics, and the much-anticipated return of Clive Standen as Rollo. While it is not clear precisely how long he will be back, we welcome more Rollo with open arms and a full heart. He’s one of the strongest characters in the Vikings world and we’ve missed him.

As you prepare for season 5 episode 11, remember this: There is still a sixth season down the line. If there is one word to describe how History feels about the run of Vikings episodes that they’ve got coming up, it’s this: Patient. They have no problem making us sit around and wait.
