As many readers probably know at this point, we love a great personal story for The Good Doctor. This is why we’re so excited for season 2 episode 4 airing on October 15. This installment (entitled “Tough Titmouse”) will serve as a nice showcase for Richard Schiff as Dr. Aaron Glassman. He’s a man who has experienced tremendous, devastating loss, and this episode may force him to confront some of it.
Want to know what we mean? CarterMatt has The Good Doctor season 2 episode 4 synopsis with some further information:
Shaun (Freddie Highmore) recalls his own past to help an intellectually disabled teenager face separation from his mother, while Claire (Antonia Thomas) is put between an injured teenage rock climber and her worried parents. Meanwhile, Glassman’s (Richard Schiff) post-op hallucinations force him to confront a personal tragedy.

What could these hallucinations be? Judging from a recent promo that we’ve seen (check it out over here), a worthy guess is that they could involve his late daughter. This is something that still haunt him, even when it is not in his primary consciousness. It will, more than likely, continue to do so.
Overall, this has to be one of the better showcases for Schiff that we have seen, and we have certainly seen many on the series already. He has a real knack for being able to dive into the psyche of this character, who has already started death in the face. There’s also an interesting juxtaposition in this episode between what is going on with Glassman and then also Shaun, who will be looking back at his own past. The main difference here is that he is doing so willingly.
