This Is Us season 3 spoilers: Yetide Badaki playing the role of Chichi

This Is Us season 3

If you enjoyed the story of Chichi on This Is Us season 3 on NBC Tuesday night, you have not seen the last of her.

According to a new report coming in via TVLineAmerican Gods actress Yetide Badaki is the actress playing the part (just in case you recognized her), and her role on the series seems to be far from over. The actress looks to be recurring in the weeks to come, so seeing how she factors into this story remains to be seen.

Chichi is a woman who knew William during his time at the building, and it does seem as though she is going to have an advisory role of sorts to Randall when it comes to life in the building and understanding the cultural experience for people who lived there. Randall may want to understand what they’ve gone through, but he also wants to fix things. He wants to run the building, but he doesn’t actually understand what life is like there. He doesn’t get the soul of it, which is something that Randall could explore throughout this season … while he also explores a role in politics at the same time.

This Is Us has a sterling reputation (Sterling K. Brown pun intended) for casting brilliant performers even in relatively-small roles. We’re not sure that we would call this particular one small, but it is just undefined. We have not quite seen enough of her yet to really feel confident as to precisely what is going to end up happening moving forward. It’s just clear that she will impact Randall in a rather big way.
