It appears as though we now know the first confirmed participant in America’s Got Talent: The Champions: Susan Boyle is taking part.
Speaking to The Sun, Boyle herself confirms that she is coming over to America to take part in the series, which has already begun filming in Los Angeles. This series is operating under a different schedule than the typical America’s Got Talent season, as much of it will be pre-taped and the objective here seems to be to get all of the episodes banked now so that the season can air in the new year. Basically, this is a chance for NBC to fill some of the months in which they don’t have The Voice on the air.
Here is what Boyle had to say about her career the past few years, and coming back on television now so many years removed from having arguably the biggest reality TV audition of all time on Britain’s Got Talent in the past:
“I’ve done a few performances over the past couple of years, mostly in Scotland … But to be given the opportunity to perform on America’s Got Talent: Champions is fantastic and I’m not nervous, I’m excited.
“I’ve spent the past couple of years growing up, learning how to deal with the nerves, I’ve lost a bit of weight and I’m ready to come back with a bang.”
We do think that Boyle has a good chance of doing well in this upcoming series. After all, she is an extraordinary singer and beyond just that, she is probably going to be one of the most-famous contestants that they have. It only benefits this show to try and have Susan around for as long as they possibly can.
