The Flash season 5: Is a King Shark – Gorilla Grodd episode possible?

Is there a chance that we could see both King Shark and Gorilla Grodd on the same episode of The Flash season 5? We certainly hope so. We do think that these are two of the most-entertaining villains within this universe, and we also rather appreciate the show trying to make them work here. They are basically the sort of villains that never felt fathomable back when you remember how Arrow first kicked things off back in season 1. This whole universe has changed a lot and now almost anything is possible.

Yet, it is also pretty clear that getting these characters on the show present a logistical nightmare. For starters, you have to think about the budget. These characters are ridiculously expensive to create via CGI. Beyond that, there’s also trying to come up with a story that makes sense for these two characters to take on at the same time. You don’t want to spend a lot of money unless you find a way to do it that makes sense, but at the same time we feel that everyone would be tuning in to see this!

At the moment, executive producer Todd Helbing is very interested in having a villain team-up in the future. Here is some of what he had to say on the subject via TVLine:

“We’re going to do everything we can to get King Shark and Grodd in the same episode, whether they’re fighting each other or the team … That will be a lot of fun.”

Helbing also noted that there is another notable character he’d love to have back in the Trickster, but here’s what makes that difficult — Mark Hamill is a series regular now on Knightfall, and that makes his schedule a little more jam-packed. (Fun fact: Knightfall season 2 is being run by Aaron Helbing, Todd’s brother.)
