Is Eric Christian Olsen leaving NCIS: Los Angeles as Marty Deeks?

NCIS: Los Angeles season 10 premiere

Is Eric Christian Olsen leaving NCIS: Los Angeles as Marty Deeks? Entering the premiere, there were certainly many questions.

Let’s kick things off here with a simple reminder as to where things were at the end of this past finale — the show’s four main characters in Deeks, Kensi, Sam, and Callen all found themselves in enormous jeopardy after the SUV they were driving in exploded. For most of the summer, we were left with questions as to whether or not they would all survive, and those questions were amplified further by a lot of cryptic messages on Olsen’s Instagram, joking that Marty Deeks was in fact dead. What added to the paranoia here was the fact that early promotional material for this episode featured the character clearly passed-out as a result of his injuries. Given that he and the rest of the team were in Mexico and with that, far from home, there was definitely a reason to worry going into this episode.

So, will Deeks make it out alive? We will have more insight on this story as the night progresses. Obviously, we do want to see the character make it out of this particular crisis in one piece.

The good news is in – Deeks didn’t die! Or, at least he didn’t die immediately. Eventually, he did wake up from his unconscious spell … and also had a dream about Kensi and babies in the process.

Deeks survived through the end of the episode, and for anyone who was worried about the status of Olsen on the show, don’t be — he is not leaving the series at any point in the near future. He will be staying put, which is certainly nice for those who love the show in its current form with its current cast on board.
