Is Andrea Bordeaux leaving NCIS: Los Angeles as Harley Hidoko? We know that this was one question entering the premiere that many people wanted an answer to.
Going into Sunday’s premiere, the status of Hidoko remained unclear — though there was some evidence that she may have died in the finale courtesy of a mysterious body. The question was whether or not those remains turned out to be hers, and that’s something that we desperately hoped to get some answers to at some point in the premiere. It was, after all, one of the bigger mysteries that we had entering the season. Hidoko was a new addition last season, but she did prove to be rather popular with fans due to her enthusiasm for the job and her ability to get things done in tight spots.
Of course, this is a subject that we’re going to have some more updates on over the course of the night. Be sure to refresh to get some other updates in the future!
The character’s fate is confirmed – Alas, it’s not good. Hidoko was confirmed dead at the end of the episode, which means that we are losing a character who did have a lot of potential and brought a great deal to the team during her time there.
Why kill the character off at this point? The only easy explanation is that the writers may have felt that someone had to die in order for the Mexico story to have stakes and meaning behind it; with that, they decided that the best thing that they could really do was continue with other threads.
