Law & Order: SVU season 20 spoilers: The Originals alum Sebastian Roche to appear
According to a report coming in via Entertainment Weekly, Roche is following up on his time on The Originals and Supernatural by appearing in a role here. As for the role, he is going to be taking on the part of Arlo Beck, a charismatic leader of a controversial group known for “female empowerment” (or at least his own interpretation of it). It’s very well possible that this is an episode inspired in part by the group Nxivm, but as is often the case with this show, they won’t necessarily name that within the episode.
Still, if this is a ripped-from the headlines sort of episode it will be more than likely the sort of one that this show tends to excel at. After all, we’ll be talking here about a fictional case that is going to be about trying to take down a public figure who has been able to get away with some terrible things over time. We anticipate that there will be some surprise twists along the way, but also emotional and personal at the same time.
Roche is probably best known by many for his work as Mikael, the patriarch of the Mikaelson clan on The Vampire Diaries and then The Originals. Beyond some of the shows that have already been mentioned here, some of his other credits include the likes of The Man in the High Castle, The Young Pope, and also Genius.
New episodes of Law & Order: SVU are set to continue airing on NBC Thursday nights — it is a new timeslot, but we don’t expect too much change elsewhere.
