Doctor Who season 11 episode 1 spoilers: ‘The Woman Who Fell to Earth’

Doctor Who season 11 episode 1

The wait for Doctor Who season 11 episode 1 is almost at an end; come eight days from this writing, it’ll be premiere day! The show is airing in America and the UK at the same time, so everyone is going to have a chance to see the first episode “The Woman Who Fell to Earth” at the same time. This is going to feel in some ways like a pilot for a new series — it’s still The Doctor, but you have a different lead in Jodie Whittaker and a new cast of characters all around her. While eventually we could see the series dip into more nostalgia, it doesn’t feel like that is going to be a priority in the early going here. Instead, new showrunner Chris Chibnall seems more intent on giving season 11 its own unique idea and presenting a fresh start for viewers who may be watching the series for the first time.

For a few more official details on the series itself, check out the Doctor Who season 11 episode 1 synopsis below:

In a South Yorkshire city, Ryan Sinclair, Yasmin Khan and Graham O’Brien are about to have their lives changed forever, as a mysterious woman, unable to remember her own name, falls from the night sky. Can they believe a word she says? And can she help solve the strange events taking place across the city?

While it’s not much of a spoiler to say this, but the “mysterious woman” is The Doctor. Heck, we saw her falling at the end of this past finale! She’s going to have some new friends here potentially, and could change their lives in some exciting ways … at least over time. We imagine that there is going to be some hesitation to going along with some of her schemes, but that shouldn’t be all that much of a surprise. Any normal human would act this same way.
