Do you want another reason to be excited for Chicago Fire season 7? We think getting Teddy Sears on board is a good way to start.
According to a report from TVLine, the actor (best known for his work on Masters of Sex in addition to The Flash) is going to be coming on board a little bit later this season in the role of Chaplain Kyle Sheffield, a “warm-hearted” guy and someone who could be welcoming to some of the characters who come into his orbit. This is a character who will be replacing Chaplain Orlovsky after his retirement, and given that Sears is on board for the role we certainly do wonder if there is a role he ends up playing beyond just offering up some spiritual advice.
What we personally hope at the moment is that this isn’t some sort of dark Chaplain who has a buried secret or turns out to be a bad person; we’ve already seen Teddy do that as Zoom, and for us there’s something interesting about seeing a different sort of character for him here. He comes from a very specific walk of life and given that the members of Firehouse 51 have a tendency to make a number of mistakes, we have to imagine that this is something that they could end up doing here, as well.
There’s a lot to love about the immediate road ahead on Chicago Fire season 7, starting with the fact that next week is a three-part crossover event. There could be another one coming in the future, but at the moment, it’s a little too early to get confirmation on that very thing.
