Elementary season 7: How the series will bring Bell, Gregson back

Elementary

Elementary season 7 is on paper going to look very different than the ones that came before. How could it not? At the end of season 6, we saw Sherlock and Joan relocate to London following the investigation into Michael’s death. This could have been the end of the show, but because it wasn’t, the writers now have a fun way of bringing everyone back together.

Luckily, it does seem as though the team has already found a way to do just that. Speaking in a new interview with TVLine, executive producer Rob Doherty had the following to say on the subject:

“Sherlock, Joan, Gregson and Bell form this very non-traditional family unit, and as the seventh season begins, there’s going to be a ‘family’ crisis … Events will transpire that will force them to put smaller problems behind them and really come together again as that unit.”

Our feeling is that there will be something that causes Gregson and Bell to come to London in some capacity … mostly because we’d be shocked to see Sherlock and Joan head back to America so soon after Sherlock was forced on. No matter how the characters come back together, though, we’ll be happy — few shows out there can do what Elementary does, and that is show different degrees of friendship while also adding a great mystery component into the mix. It really gets that there are a number of different non-romantic dynamics that can exist within characters, and we’re really excited to see the series explore them in some capacity.

The hard part for us as a viewer is going to be waiting for so long to see them, largely because Elementary season 7 is not going to premiere until we get around to the spring, most likely.
