NCIS season 16 episode 1 sneak peeks: The aftermath of Vance’s capture

NCIS

NCIS season 16 episode 1 is airing on CBS Tuesday night, and we know a good bit about what you can expect to see.

Over the course of this premiere, we’re going to see Leon Vance tormented in a way that he hasn’t been before. Hakim and his people are desperate, and Vance may not have all that much of a choice other than cooperate if he wants to stay alive. This is effectively much of what we see in the first sneak peek below for the upcoming episode. You can see the character put in a tough position and he has to figure out if there is a way for him to get out of this situation alive.

In the end, he’s probably going to have to rely on some of his friends within the NCIS team to get him out of this situation, and that is mostly what the second sneak peek is all about. In this, you see Gibbs and Sloane debate what’s going on after they identify Vance and figure out precisely what’s going on with him. Almost immediately after this, Sloane takes responsibility for his capture and laments that she could maybe have done something different that could have potentially kept this from happening. We do understand some of where she is coming from emotionally here, but what more could she have really done? We’ve gotten a good sense already as to how so much of this situation touches back on her own painful past.

One other thing that these sneak peeks add is a larger sense of who Kasie Hines is as a member of the team, even if she doesn’t have a full-time promotion just yet. She’s going to do whatever she can to be a valuable asset, while trying to add at least a little bit of levity along the way.
