Blue Bloods season 9: Donnie Wahlberg digs through trash — sort of

Blue Bloods season 9 is going to be premiering on CBS on Friday night, and it seems as though at one scene ahead could be especially trashy.

In a new post on his official Instagram, you can see series star Donnie Wahlberg surrounded by garbage, or at least what he says is fake garbage. It’s pretty understandable why you wouldn’t want him out there having to deal with real trash: You don’t know what is actually in the bags and with that, it’s fairly easy to figure out that there could be some stuff in there that is rather hazardous to your health. Plus, fake garbage looks every bit as real on TV.

So what’s Danny Reagan doing digging through the stuff? If we had to guess, it has a thing or two to do with him trying to find some sort of evidence related to a big case that he is working on. We don’t exactly think that Danny is spending his free time roaming through garbage for the fun of it! This is hardly fun work, but he also understands that it is necessary work. Nasty, necessary work.

Given the timing of when Wahlberg posted this photo, we wouldn’t anticipate that you are going to see this scene on Blue Bloods for many more weeks to come. The cast and crew are typically several weeks ahead of where the show is in terms of new episodes that are airing. That’s especially true leading up to the premiere, as production for the show starts a couple of months in advance.
