The Resident season 2 spoilers: An introduction to Jenna Dewan’s Julian
After all, remember this: Dewan is a known commodity in the entertainment world, and she is the sort of performer who makes an impact no matter where she goes. It feels almost intentional entering the upcoming premiere that her character stirs the pot and mixes things up. She will be doing so here in the form of Julian, a medical device rep who has a very specific purpose for doing much of what she does.

In speaking on this a little bit further to TV Guide, show executive producer Amy Holden Jones had the following to say as a set up to this character:
“Julian’s a former dancer who got a bad injury, and a hip replacement saved her … Now she’s passionate about helping others — she’s a believer.”
We do appreciate the fact that the writers of The Resident chose to include a little bit of Dewan’s own experience as a dancer into the mix, mostly because that gives her more of a natural touchstone to play on as an actor. The fact that she is inherently likable is going to make easier for some supporting characters to get on board with her. The problem here is mostly going to come in whether or not she uses some of this likability for a specific purpose, such as being able to get ahead. It’s fair to say that we’ve got a lot to be excited about on the series moving forward; we just have to wait and see precisely how the overall story is going to unfold. Dewan’s role isn’t going to be wrapped up in a short period of time.
