The Resident season 2 episode 1 video: About the blackout

The Resident season 2On Monday night’s premiere episode for The Resident season 2, you have to prepare for a substantial amount of chaos. This is what happens when a massive storm strikes Chastain and because of that, everything starts to go dark.

When you think about it, there are few places that suffer during a blackout quite like a hospital. While there are some backup generators that can help in order to ensure that some devices can still work, they often only will run for so long and sometimes, it can take a bit in order to even get them going. The specific infrastructure for Chastain is not entirely clear, but this preview below makes it abundantly clear as to precisely how devastating this blackout will be. You can see that many patients are immediately in jeopardy because of what happens. The lights are out, an operation is going to be in jeopardy right in the middle of it, and we don’t see things getting any better right away. Instead, we just think that it’s going to be even harder for some of these patients to survive.

This episode will be one of the biggest tests for the entire medical staff we’ve seen yet, and that is probably why the producers are starting things off in this particular way. This is a way to really get the ball rolling in the early going, and we have to hope that we’re going to see things continue to escalate from here. That’s the one challenge with the premiere — when you start things off this big, is there a way to continue to actually match the level of drama that you’re giving us here?
