Absentia season 2: Behind the scenes with Cara Theobold, Stana Katic
Not only that, but it is also nice to see that Cara Theobold is coming back! Given the long wait between production on season 1 and season 2, we weren’t quite sure how many familiar faces would end up being a part of the story. Now, though, we’ve gotten a chance to see Stana Katic, Patrick Heusinger, Theobold, Neil Jackson, and Angel Bonanni on set. Many of the most-notable characters from season 1 are a part of the story once more! Theobold’s Alice was a strong character in season 1, especially in how the writing managed to keep from pigeonholing her as some sort of romantic obstacle or character audiences would inherently dislike. By the end of the season, she was a deeply sympathetic character given what she went through, and also the love that she had for Flynn and how far she was willing to go to protect him.

While it’s not entirely clear what Theobold and (seemingly) Katic are doing in the photo below (a re-post from Cara’s Instagram), they’re doing some night shoots and that often suggests that some creepy stuff is on the horizon. Absentia season 1 had a good many scenes at night and understandably so, given that there is an opportunity to explore a totally different world when the sun goes down. A lot of seedy characters rise to the surface and it is so much easier to paint an air of mystery.
Absentia season 2 will, hopefully, premiere all over the world at some point in 2019, and before that we expect at least a few more teasers as to what lies ahead — though we hardly expect all that much in the way of plot details. How much do you really want to know in advance, anyway?
