The Last Ship season 5 episode 3 sneak peek: Can Chandler unite Mexico, Cuba?

The Last Ship season 5Are you ready to see The Last Ship season 5 episode 3? This installment is coming onto TNT on Sunday night, and at the center of this one are some questions about Gustavo.

Over the course of the past two weeks, we’ve started to see this character establish himself as a Big Bad. He’s already caused chaos for the United States thanks to misinformation and some other tactics. This is a ruthless, dangerous character who clearly will do everything that he can in order to get what he wants, and that clearly will pose some problems for some other countries soon enough. That’s why Tom Chandler realizes that in order to shake things up, he’s going to need some help from some various allies … and that’s really the point of the new sneak peek below.

In this preview, you get a little bit more of a sense as to why Chandler wants to unite Mexico and Cuba. These are two countries who, due to proximity and military might, have a chance to be valuable in the battle against Gustavo. The problem is that they hardly have a lot of affection for each other. They are going to need to collaborate in the event that Gustavo is stopped sooner rather than later, and we certainly think that there are some ways in which to ensure that this happens provided that they do work together. This episode is going to be a true test of Chandler’s diplomatic abilities. If he’s able to pull off some sort of agreement here, it feels fairly clear that the entire world is going to be better for it.

If not, let’s just say that we imagine Chandler having a much harder time figuring out how to slow Gustavo down. He wants a solution that does not include a massive loss of life, and with that, he recognizes that working with these guys is a smart, viable option.
