Are you ready for Monday night’s The Good Doctor season 2 premiere to be here on ABC? There’s a lot to look forward to here!
Perhaps more so than anything else, we’re especially looking forward to this through the lens of what we could see with Lisa Edelstein. The former House star is coming on board as a master oncologist named Marina Blaize, and really the right person to treat Dr. Glassman after his cancer diagnosis. As it turns out, though, she’s also someone with a rather checkered history. She’s had some issues in the past, and some of those are tied to Richard Schiff’s character.

In the sneak peek below, you can get a sense as to what some of those are, including how she was recently reinstated at the hospital. What does that have to do with Glassman’s condition? Probably quite a bit, since he likely realizes that he needs to put some of the issues that he has with Dr. Blaize aside for the sake of his own health. Ultimately, he probably realizes that he needs to do virtually everything that he can in order to ensure that he remains in good shape and working with her is the right way to do that. She’s not going to be easy on him, but that’s to be expected given their past. It’s also probably what he needs — to be pushed, and to have someone who will challenge him. Not everyone else at the hospital will be willing to do that.
Edelstein is going to recur this season, so don’t expect anything with Glassman to be resolved in this episode. It’s going to take some time in order to fully learn if Glassman can go about his business as he once did.
