Law & Order: SVU season 20 star Kelli Giddish pregnant with second child

According to a new report from E! News, Kelli Giddish and her husband Lawrence Faulborn are officially expecting their second child. Giddish revealed the big news during the season 20 premiere event on Thursday night, and also revealed that the pregnancy story is going to be written into the series in some shape or form. Does this have something to do with George Newbern’s upcoming guest spot as a love connection from the past? It’s possible, but it’s best not to speculate too much on stuff before the premiere even airs.

The first time that Giddish was pregnant during the run of SVU, the series chose to then write in her pregnancy into the story in a major way. What they can potentially do here is tell a story that is different, but also interesting in it’s own way. What’s great about SVU is that we all as viewers know these characters so well and have seen them at so many different points in their lives; with that, there’s a lot of excitement that comes from seeing Rollins evolve to a mother of two and what that means for her life and those who are in it.

For Kelli herself, I’m absolutely thrilled for both her and Faulborn! They surely have many exciting moments to come and it seems like the SVU family is cheering them on. These are people who have been together for a long time and, especially on the crew, have seen many babies grow up over the course of the run. We’re at the point now where babies who were born at the start of the series are now adults, and the show has that multi-generation feel to it.
