The Big Bang Theory season 12 premiere video: Leonard and Penny’s story

Big Bang Theory season 11 episode 19

Just in case you wanted to get some good insight in advance on Leonard and Penny’s story moving into The Big Bang Theory season 12 premiere, we come bearing good news. We’ve got that for you in the form of multiple sneak peeks!

Within these, you have a chance to understand more of what their central conflict is … which seems to be very much about the similarities that exist between them and Amy’s parents. Or, at least how Leonard sees it. On some level, it makes sense — Amy’s dad is quiet and often submissive; meanwhile, her mother is much louder and more domineering. We get that Penny can feel at times like the person “in charge,” but we think that this is mostly Leonard making a big deal where there isn’t one than anything else. We actually think you can make a case that Amy’s mother has a lot in common with Bernadette in how she tries to control the relationship.

Getting Teller and Kathy Bates back for the premiere had to be a no-brainer for the producers of The Big Bang Theory, and with that we totally understand the desire to do it. If you were in their situation, wouldn’t you? It’s surprising that they’re not working as much with Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik, but Sheldon and Amy are going to be off on their honeymoon for at least part of the premiere. This will be a chance to see them on their own and with that, doing their own thing … which should be fun, and crazy.

Also worth noting in this video is that there is a nice call-out to The Vampire Diaries for everyone who loves that series. We just wanna know if Penny is Team Delena or Team Stelena…
