Elementary season 7 premiere date hopes for Jonny Lee Miller, cast
Unfortunately, you do have to be prepared to wait for some time in order to see it. While we know that the Jonny Lee Miller – Lucy Liu series was picked up for another season earlier this year, the show was not placed on the CBS premiere schedule for the fall. With that, the earliest it could be back is in the winter, but we think that a late spring / summer launch is more likely. This seemed to work well for the network in terms of giving them some summer content, and Elementary performs well enough internationally / in DVR and streaming numbers to overcome some lower ratings.

To date, season 6 of the series has averaged around a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic alongside close to 4 million viewers live. While those are not great numbers by any means, they’re not terrible for a live scripted show in the summer. They are stronger than another CBS show in Salvation, and are better than some first-year summer series like Reverie over on NBC or Take Two on ABC. It’s just hard to get big ratings at a time when viewers are off doing other things — they may still watch, but on their own time and under their own schedule.
Ultimately, we expect Elementary season 7 to premiere in late April / early May 2019. Whether or not it runs for the same 21 or so episodes is something that we’ll get some more news on over time.

As for whether or not season 7 will be the final one for the series, that still remains to be seen. We do know that after seven years, shows do often get more extensive and complicated to bring back. That’s why it wouldn’t be shocking if season 7 was the end — but if it is, we really hope they find a way to bring the Moriarty story back to the forefront. We know that Natalie Dormer’s schedule makes it difficult, but we do think that this is a worthy story that needs some closure before the series reaches its formal end.
