Emmys 2018 red-carpet live stream: Where, when to watch coverage
There are a number of different options that are out there, but we recommend the People TV coverage of the Emmy Awards red carpet starting at around 3:00 p.m. Pacific time. You can view that by heading over to People Magazine’s website at that time (there is also some additional information below.) There are some other options out there, including with E!, but this option gives you a number of different places to watch including via Entertainment Weekly and also YouTube Live.
Coverage of the actual Emmys themselves kicks off at around 7:30 p.m. Eastern / 4:30 p.m. Pacific on NBC, and you can stream that (if you can validate your cable subscription) on the network’s official site. If you’re a cord-cutter and don’t have cable, unfortunately there are not too many other venues that are out there for you at the moment that are actually sanctioned.
This year the Emmys are being hosted by Saturday Night Live – Weekend Update co-hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che, and we have a feeling that it will be a fairly entertaining affair. There will be jokes about TV, jokes about politics, and hopefully a few surprising winners. We do think that The Handmaid’s Tale will more than likely clean house again, especially since it is more topical and relevant than almost any other series out there at the moment. It may not have been timed intentionally to reflect the state of things in the country, but that is the way that it has turned out.
