Outlander season 4 photos: More Sam Heughan – Caitriona Balfe images

Today, we have reached the third and final part of our Outlander season 4 photo preview series, and we’ll start this one by giving the photography team a lot of credit. They’ve told some really lovely stories in some of the released photos this year, and the one above is no exception. As a matter of fact, this may actually be one of the most-stunning ones that we’ve seen.

Here, you’ve got Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) riding side by hide through a fairly-dense forest. The destination is not entirely clear, but you get the sense from the dust behind them that the horses are moving at a fairly-reasonable speed. There has to be, with that, a sense of relative urgency with whatever it is that they’re doing. It’s either that or they just like to ride horseback at a pretty brisk pace — we suppose that it is a nice way to take in the North Carolina sights! (Technically, we know that the show filmed in Scotland, but let’s keep up the illusion as long as we can, shall we?)

If nothing else, this photo does a nice job of depicting the openness of the world around Jamie and Claire, who are venturing into a new universe with very-new challenges this year. We’ll have to see precisely what awaits them when the show returns on November 4.

As for some other photos…

This image shows Jamie and Claire in a little more of a populated place, but one where the two have a relative amount of concern. The expression on Claire’s face really says it all, as she is reasonably surprised about something that is going on. We don’t know if it’s something that puts either her or Jamie in danger, but this is something to store away in the back of your brain leading up to the premiere.

Finally, we bring you this photo of Claire, indoors and working on something important, whether it be making medicine out of herbs or something a little more artistic. We’re not someone with an extensive knowledge of 18th-century practices, so we recognize that it is more than possible that we’re wrong with whatever sort of assessment we have at the moment. To us, of the three photos this is the one where we have the most overall question marks.
