The Resident season 2 video: Matt Czuchry, cast on what lies ahead
In the video below, you can see Matt Czuchry, Emily VanCamp, and the rest of the cast discuss some of what the show is planning to highlight moving forward — including some of the mistakes that many of the characters are going to be making. Over the course of this season, you’ll see the doctors continue to struggle with parts of their job, especially when it comes to towing the ethical lines that come with being a doctor. Everyone (or at least mostly everyone) wants to do right by their patients, but at times there is a bureaucracy and other issues that get in the way.

By the end of this season, what we ultimately imagine that we are going to see here are some chaotic situations in which some of these characters find themselves conflicted, and make the wrong choice because of that. There’s also an interesting perspective into the hospital via Conrad’s father Marshall, who is not necessarily as experienced running a hospital on the ground level. He’s going to encounter some things that may give him a different sort of perspective on his son.
Finally, the video below does offer up a look at Jenna Dewan’s new character Julian, a medical device rep who finds herself immersed in the hospital and the storyline for Devon — by the end of the season, her actions could lead to major consequences for his career. Her role should prove interesting just because she shows a very different side of what doctors have to deal with — people whose very job is to find some ways to profit off of hospitals.
Let’s hope that the The Resident is going to figure out a way in which these doctors can move forward, while also figuring out a way to learn something from their various struggles.
