Snowfall season 3 renewal hopes rise entering epic season 2 finale

Snowfall season 2

As we prepare for the Snowfall season 2 finale on FX next week, we’re even more optimistic in regards to our season 3 renewal hopes.

Last night’s new episode, which was the first one since the shocking shooting of Kevin at the hands of Franklin, ended up generating overall a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and then, to go along with it, over 850,000 total viewers. In total viewers, this is the best performance that we’ve seen for the show since the middle of last month — if it keeps this trajectory going, there is a reasonably good chance that we could see the best numbers of the season for the finale.

We don’t really think that it’s altogether hard to figure out the reason for the ratings increase, either — all you have to do is look at the story of the show at the moment. Going into this episode, you had that Kevin cliffhanger and Franklin leaving the scene. At that point, it was pretty darn clear that the interest in the story was at a peak as we sat around and wondered precisely what was going to be coming up next. Thursday night’s episode did prove to be a rather shocking one in its own right, especially when it comes to the big surprise at the end of the episode when it comes to Franklin’s arrest. Viewers could not have known about that at the time that the series first aired, but we do think that this is going to serve as a rather-great tease in order to convince viewers to keep watching as we work to move into the finale.

Personally, we’re hoping that the renewal is announced before the finale airs — based on the ratings performance and the story at the moment, Snowfall certainly deserves it.
