Outlander season 4 photos: Claire’s meeting; more of Roger & Bree

There are a whole host of new Outlander season 4 photos available through Starz, and in order to give all of them their proper due, we are going to make sure that we take the time necessarily to really hone in on what each one of them brings to the table. We are focusing on three today, but be sure to come back tomorrow for a few more and then Sunday to finish them off.

We begin here with Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) with a Native American named Adawehi, who is played by First Nations performer Tantoo Cardinal. Away from the show, she is a member of the Order of Canada and one of the most prolific First Nations actors working today, having performed on everything from Longmire to Godless to Dances with Wolves. Her role on Outlander could help to give Claire a better understanding of tribal customs and traditions, and also the plight that many of these people may be facing at a time when much of their land is being slowly taken away from them. While Jamie and Claire are arriving on the cusp of the American Revolution, there are still so many other factors at play here.

It certainly does look as though the conversation the two characters are having is cordial, especially with the way Claire is leaning forward as though she is eager to study and learn. This definitely feels like an educational moment.

Brianna and Roger’s story

The other two photos that we’re discussing today are very much Roger / Bree focused, which is fine by us since it’s nice to see them get some publicity. The first one here shows Sophie Skelton’s character with a sense of excitement about her, and judging from the man in the background, it looks as though she is in an airport. Judging from how she is standing in one place, she may be waiting for someone else — perhaps Roger? — to arrive. If this is the case (she is not carrying with her any travel bags), it certainly makes sense as to why she is smiling.

Meanwhile, what we have above is an action show of Roger and Bree in the midst of a celebration, with Roger wearing a kilt to go along with it! (The spirit of the earlier seasons of Outlander is very much alive!) Could they be at the Highland Games? It does appear as though they are in a tent, and with everyone smiling and enjoying themselves, it is some sort of celebration. They’re obviously very happy to be there.
