Take Two finale review: A tale of many cliffhangers
The Take Two finale has come and gone, and more than likely, your jaw is planted firmly on the floor. How could it not be?
In the closing minutes of Thursday night’s new episode, we saw Eddie Valetik put into handcuffs and arrested after a suspicious situation led to him being suspected of murder. Did he actually kill a hitman? This is a guy who took someone he cared about from him years ago, just as he also did what he could to torment him again tonight. Much of this tied back to what we saw with Eddie’s past, and what is starting to become clear is that there is a larger, vast conspiracy that has been constructed in order to ensure that he is not able to take down any corruption or problems that exist in Los Angeles.
Ultimately, the arrest of Eddie came about at the worst possible time — while we don’t think that he’s guilty of murdering anyone, he certainly needs an alibi and doesn’t have one. To make matters more complicated, Sam Swift has a decision of her own to make regarding a movie role. She was granted what could potentially be her big break during tonight’s episode but, if she takes that, she could be leaving at the worst possible time for Eddie. Will anyone be there to help him? Sure, Monica and Berto are, but will they be enough?
There’s also one other thing to think about here when it comes to Sam and Eddie’s relationship. They claimed that sleeping together was going to be a one-time thing, but it’s pretty clear that there is something more here. We’re not sure we would label them an item at the moment, but this is a big part of what’s going on here and that could heavily influence Sam’s decision. He wouldn’t want her to sacrifice a career opportunity for him, but she also cares for him and doesn’t want him in jail. What a cliffhanger!
CarterMatt Verdict
Overall, we would say that this entire episode comes across as a very entertaining, dramatic affair — and also a challenge for ABC to renew the show; otherwise, they are going to have to deal with a legion of very-angry fans who want resolution on the other side of this pretty intense cliffhanger. There are many unanswered questions and throughout the next few months, those aren’t going to go away as ABC tries to determine the show’s future.
