America’s Got Talent finalist spotlight: Does Duo Transcend has a shot?
Let’s start things off though, by discussing what they’ve brought to the series so far this season: Real danger and tremendous skill. Acrobatics / aerial acts are often one of the most under-appreciated within the world of AGT just because they require so much physical exertion; yet, one wrong move and you get blasted. It’s not the sort of pressure a singer or dancer feels because so many of your movements are so exposed. Yet, the slip-up that Duo Transcend had in Judge Cuts, along with their story and their vulnerability, actually seemed to amplify their skill further. It reminded viewers that these are real humans not some robots going up on stage and performing.

Entering the live shows, we’ve only seen these two (otherwise known as Tyce Nielsen and Mary Wolfe) get better and better. In the first live-show performance, they managed to effectively do the super-dangerous blindfold stunt from Judge Cuts. Then, on this past episode they combined their traditional act with a dangerous roller-skating stunt that showed their versatility. They are not a one-trick circus act; they can do a number of different things and make all of them come across as art.
What are their winner odds?
As of right now, Duo Transcend are underdogs in that their spot in the finale was not gifted to them easily. Yet, they were in the more-challenging of the two semifinal shows and with the right performance and the right emotion, we could see them being a darkhorse contender. Even if they don’t win, we could envision easily a top-five finish for them that helps to lift them towards having a more successful career that allows them to do more of what they really want. We think these two could lead a top-notch Vegas show where they could include some other acrobats and danger acts for a really cool experience. Remember that you don’t need to win this show to be a success.
