NCIS: New Orleans season 5: First look at Geoffrey Owens
In a post on Twitter below, writer-producer Talicia Raggs gives you a first look at Owens as his character, a Commander and longtime friend of Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula) who helps to assess how he is doing after nearly dying at the end of season 4. Owens seems more than happy to be there and ready to deliver a great episode. While his casting on The Haves and the Have Nots was announced before this one, this NCIS: New Orleans gig may end up being the first time you see Owens back on TV since the story broke about him working at a Trader Joe’s. It’s not as though this is an experience totally new for him after all he has appeared on Blue Bloods, Lucifer, and of course The Cosby Show. He’s been a working actor for a very long time and that hasn’t changed in recent years. He just continues to find different ways in order to make ends meet.

In a lot of ways, NCIS: New Orleans is the perfect gig for Owens given that much of the viewership will remember his prior work; if nothing else, they will also be rather familiar with his story. This is going to be a great opportunity for him to get in the spotlight and our hope here is that he finds a chance to get a series-regular gig on a show. That’d benefit him heavily, but also benefit a show looking to get more headlines off of his story.
