MasterChef season 9 episode 20 video: High stakes over steaks

MasterChef season 9

MasterChef season 9 episode 20 is coming up on Fox Wednesday night, and this is gearing up to be an intense showdown. You’ve got five people left who really want to be there, and the challenge right in front of them is a difficult one. They have to find a way to serve perfect stakes in a limited period of time, and do them with the temperature that is precisely what the judges want.

There is an element of subjectivity sometimes to food, and this is a good example of this in that often, what the judges want out of their steaks is very different than how most people at home choose to eat them. They tend to go on the rarer side, but there are plenty of people we know who would rather have the steaks practically burned to a crisp. The contestants have to cook per their judges specifications rather than their own preferences.

At the moment, we’ve got Samantha, Ashley, Gerron, Cesar, and Bowen still in the running. It’s a fun field in that these are five contestants from different places and also different culinary profiles. They don’t cook like each other, and nor do they act like each other, either. They are going to just do whatever they can over these final episodes to try and be perfect, knowing that if they don’t, it’s going to be a heartbreaking journey out the door. There are few exits more painful than right before the finale. That’s going to be coming up at some point in the near future, and it’s best that you go ahead and prepare yourself for that as a viewer, as well.

Team-wise, we would say that Gordon Ramsay has to be feeling pretty darn good about himself at the moment. How could he not be, given that he has the majority of the contestants left?
