Last Man Standing season 7 spoilers: The story for Mandy and Kyle
First and foremost, the show is going to have a little bit of fun that Molly McCook is going to be playing the character now rather than Molly Ephraim. Because McCook is significantly taller than Ephraim (and also blonde), the show will be writing in a fun nod to the recasting in the early going. Speaking to TVLine, executive producer Kevin Abbott had the following to say about it:
“Mandy’s mad at Kyle because she’s changed something about her looks and he can’t tell what it is … He thinks she looks exactly the same, and so does Mike.”
Meanwhile, Abbott also notes here that there will be more of a serious story coming soon after the premiere for these two characters:
“We find out that Kyle and Mandy have been trying to get pregnant… for a little while and things aren’t going well.”
In addition to trying to make people laugh, we do believe that one of the goals for Last Man Standing this season is going to be trying to figure out some ways in which to bring viewers together from all walks of life. With Kyle and Mandy’s story, this is the sort of thing that many different viewers can relate to — trying to start a family is not something that is altogether new to many viewers out there. They can at least understand some of where these characters are coming from.
