Chicago PD season 6 spoilers: The Mayoral election to be a big storyline
Based on some of the early information that we’re getting when it comes to Chicago PD season 6, it feels like politics are going to be a part of the picture.
To be specific here, we are thinking here in terms of the Mayoral election! Speaking via TVLine, show executive producer Rick Eid made some of his thoughts clear when it comes to how the show is going to take this story on:
“We’re going to delve into the mayoral election a bit, and see how the political machine in Chicago works, and how that affects the police department.”

In particular, this story is going to circle back eventually to the new character played by Anne Heche, someone whose boss is going to be actively involved as a candidate. The motivation for her during her time on the show could be working to get herself further up in the ranks — if her boss moves up the food chain, the same goes for him — we know that there are many different power-hungry people within this universe so this shouldn’t be a surprise. Of course, wanting a promotion shouldn’t also just be thought as a greedy thing — it can be understandable for many people, given that this is the sort of thing that leads to more money and a chance to potentially do some more good for other people. The question here is just what sort of character Heche will be playing — it’s always easy to assume that she will be an adversary given that so many people on this show are. Yet, there are no guarantees and it’s certainly possible that she can find a way to surprise us.
