Outlander season 4 exec talks pivotal Jamie Fraser moment
Otherwise, press onward for some more discussion all about what is going to lie ahead, especially when it comes to Jamie Fraser.
For anyone who has read the fourth book in Diana Gabaldon’s season entitled Drums of Autumn, there is one scene that you may be especially looking forward to — Jamie and Brianna meeting for the first time. That moment will be on the series, and executive producer Matthew B. Roberts promises (per TVLine) that this is going to be a very familiar scene to many books scenes out there:
“I can say that they will meet, and it will bring some tears … This moment is such a big deal, we try to be as true to the source material as possible.”

We obviously want this Jamie – Brianna meeting to be emotional, but also one that gives Jamie a good sense quickly as to who Brianna is as a person. He should realize before too long that she’s got so many traits that he recognizes in either his wife or even himself. There’s a tenacity about her, even if she’ll have gone through a great deal by the time their paths cross.
One other thing that Roberts notes in here is that there was “a reason” why produces opted to keep Murtagh alive rather than just kill him off as we saw in the books. Our theory has been for a while that the show is going to mix that character with another important one from the books, and we could see the end result of that this season … but, as noted, this is just our own theory on the subject.
