The Amazing Race Canada 6 finale preview: The Heroes’ fight to the finish
We haven’t written too much about this particular season, but let’s just kick things off by stating that it’s been absolutely fantastic. We’ve always felt like the Canadian version was the best one for the franchise in terms of packing in content and really giving you a defined sense of place. Even though they only travel outside of Canada a couple of times a season, they still make the most of the locations they visit (though we’re still somewhat surprised that they don’t do more in Quebec).
Moving into the finale, you’ve got three very good teams still in the running.
Taylor & Courtney – Probably the strongest team this season and one of the strongest we’ve seen on the series. We do think that the Canadian version of the Race has had a lot of super-dominant winners over its run, at times to its detriment. While these siblings are the clear favorites entering the finale, we don’t necessarily think they are a slam-dunk to win (they were almost eliminated in Mexico) — anything can happen at any time and with the final leg in Banff, everyone will be tested physically and mentally.
Dylan & Kwame – These two athletes having already shown themselves to have the right amount of brains to go with their brawn; they’re not just the stereotypical meat-heads. (Ironically, the only reason they didn’t win the last leg was because of a game of basketball.) We do think that they’re surging at the right time and have a very good shot at taking the grand prize home.
Adam & Courtney – They’ve managed to make it to the finale despite almost being eliminated a number of occasions. It’s easy to write them off in theory, but we know from their profile before the season that they’ve done snowboarding together and with them going to a winter-sports paradise, they may have a natural leg up on the competition.
Right now, we’re going with Taylor & Courtney to win, but we’ll see what happens next week.
Before we go, a quick shout-out to Martina & Phil, who really are what this show is all about. They were thrilled to be there and felt like underdogs from the very beginning (most big-time fans of the Race are), but they showed themselves to be constant competitors and came pretty close to making the finale.
