The Resident season 2 spoilers: More on Jenna Dewan’s Julian Lynn
According to a report coming in via Variety, this character (played by Jenna Dewan) is going to be so much more than just a medical device rep who turns up at Chastain this season. She also happens to be a threat to Devon’s romantic relationship and also his career overall. We do like the that there are these sort of complicated characters on this series — it’s probably not fair to label Julian a full-on adversary before we meet her, but it definitely does feel like this is a character we are supposed to be paying attention to on some level. We like Devon and we don’t want to see something happen to him; yet, it’s possible that it does.
Beyond just Dewan (who will appear within a good chunk of episodes coming up), one of the other big conflicts this season is Conrad’s father Marshall being in charge now — which means that Dr. Randolph Bell has someone who can say no to him for a change. This is a very important thing given that we don’t want this character to have all of the power — also, given the fact that he’s had this tremor, Marshall is someone who could end up being a danger to his career.
In speaking about this further to the aforementioned publication, show executive producer Todd Harthan had the following to say:
“[Marshall’s presence] means it’s ‘Game of Thrones’ in the power centers of the hospital and [Dr. Randolph] Bell has a serious adversary in Marshall.”
As a whole, we think that there’s going to be a lot to love on The Resident season 2 if you loved the first season, including more action, drama, medicine, and of course some new arrivals along the way.
