Better Call Saul season 4: Will more flash-forwards happen?

Better Call Saul season 4

Tonight, Better Call Saul delivered a rare Breaking Bad flash-forward to a time in which Jimmy McGill’s life was going up in flames.

With that, you do have to wonder if more peeks from this era are going to be coming. After all, why wouldn’t we want them? This was a chance to see a freaked-out Saul trying to destroy everything he could and also getting a little more help from Francesca as he prepared for what would eventually be his departure from Albuquerque and, eventually, becoming Gene once and for all.

For those wondering, the peeks into the Breaking Bad era are far from over. Speaking via Entertainment Weekly, series star Bob Odenkirk made it clear that you would revisit this particular time of his character’s life — but not necessarily the same era we saw tonight. He also had the following to say on getting to dive back into Saul Goodman’s shoes completely again:

I was thrilled. Part of me — it really comes from comedy — just really wants to make the audience happy. I was satisfied and pleased at the notion of playing Saul and being back in the office and giving everybody a moment of that character that they love so much and was so entertaining to people. To go there for a few minutes and be that guy and give them that flavor made me really, really happy. Plus, it’s fun to play him. The truth is it’s easier to play Saul than Jimmy. It’s not as rewarding. Jimmy is a rich character with so many angles — there’s so much complexity to the guy that it’s a more rewarding character. But Saul is kind of pure fun.

While we’d probably prefer Gene scenes to Saul scenes since we already know the Breaking Bad era, tonight was fun — and we’d be certainly game to see more of it.
