Power season 5 finale set to be largely about Ghost, Angela

Are you ready for the Power season 5 finale? While there are only so many things that can be said about it without seeing it, one thing feels clear as far as the focus goes: This is going to be the story of Ghost and Angela more so than anything else.

The idea of these two characters even close to being back with each other is crazy, especially when you think about all they went through. Heck, just a year ago in season 4 Ghost was on trial after it was Angela herself who put him in handcuffs! This is mostly just a reminder of how this show can be malleable and how feelings just don’t go away.

As executive producer Gary Lennon also notes in a new interview with TV Guide, this storyline is also a reminder how your feelings can often get in the way of how you would act and feel normally:

“[Angela’s decisions are] built upon the theme of [Sunday’s episode] which is, ‘Sometimes you’re so close to someone you can’t see them.’ Sometimes when we take actions our heart overrides the brain and I think Angela is a great example of that.”

Because Angela has fought so hard for Ghost and, by extension, fought for his family, she’s now put herself into a position during the finale where she has to make a decision when it comes to her future. Is she going to be willing to keep fighting for Jamie, even to the point where she risks her own future? She’s got a lot to think about and not a lot of time in order to make a decision.
