Elementary season 6 episode 20 preview: Sherlock vs. Michael resumes
One of the more interesting questions that we’ve had as of late is simply this: Is Desmond Harrington one of the most MIA series regulars we’ve ever seen? He’s been gone the majority of the season after being around a lot in the early going. We feel like some of this probably just stems from the fact that originally, Elementary season 6 was going to have a smaller number of episodes. The return of Michael was probably always meant to be the finale, and it was inevitably pushed down the road once the episode order was extended.
Now that we are near the end of the road, though, we are poised to be able to check out a fight for the ages with Michael in one corner and Sherlock in the other. We know that he wants to challenge Holmes — it is a part of his addiction — but is he going to prove to be too much? One of the most dangerous parts of this character is that he kills almost as a need. With that in mind, we have a hard time imagining that he is ever going to slow down — with that, it will be fully up to Sherlock to find a way to stop him, provided of course he can.
Below, the Elementary season 6 episode 20 synopsis offers up a little bit more information as to what you can expect to see moving forward now:
“Fit to Be Tied” – Holmes and Watson’s deadly conflict with Sherlock’s former friend Michael (Desmond Harrington) intensifies when their newest victim looks to be the serial killer’s latest prey, in the first part of a two-episode season finale event on ELEMENTARY, Monday, Sept. 10 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Given that this is a two-part finale, be prepared for a big cliffhanger of sorts at the end of the first episode.

Will definitely be worth the wait, but I don’t think they utilized the Michael Character/storyline properly.
Having him leave was fine but making him this afterthought (not even that really) for the following 9 episodes was a bit silly. In my opinion, they should have been building this up. They could have put the storyline where Holmes’ identity was stolen in an earlier episode and drew it out culminating in something more than a picture at the end of the episode. Perhaps seeing Michael sitting on his house watching sherlock and Joan from the distance or something? Some little cat and mouse things from him just to let us know he’s legitamately still around.
I think they are going to rush to wrap this up and it’s honestly a shame because the dynamic that is there between Michael and Sherlock is fascinating. Hoping they pull it off.
