MasterChef season 9 episode 18 video: Restaurant takeover

Are you ready for MasterChef season 9 episode 18 to come on the air? At this point, it’s clear that we’re in the home stretch! There are only six contestants left this season and at the end of the two hours, it’s possible the field could be down to four. These home cooks are going to be tested in a huge way leading up to that. For starters, they are going to have to provide dinner service for a busy dining room — something that we always know is difficult. Admittedly these are not our favorite competitions since we tend to watch Hell’s Kitchen for these sort of things, but we understand what the value is here with bringing them to the table. You create a little bit of drama and you test the ability for some of your contestants in a restaurant environment. A MasterChef winner may not have to get into the restaurant business, but it’s a part of the skill set that many deem necessary.

For those who like something different, it seems as though the second part of this episode will provide that as the remaining home cooks are going to take on a different sort of challenging — making a dish that has personal connections. The season 9 episode 18 synopsis offers more news as to what’s coming:

The Top Six face the Restaurant Takeover Challenge at Providence in Los Angeles. The home cooks split into two teams and must feed a dining room filled with 48 guests. Then, the remaining five receive a heart-warming mystery box challenge in which contestants will create a dish inspired by their loved-one.

We also do like, at this point, how there is such a wide array of interesting and likable people left. You have people who would be really great winners, and you also have contestants like Samantha who is in the top six while still being a college student. There’s a good mixture of underdogs and favorites.
