Elementary season 6 episode 19 video: A missing persons case
So who is this young woman? She’s a student who is, unknowingly, bringing the trail back to none other than Harlan Emple. Sherlock Holmes’ mathematician friend / Irregulars member (played by Rich Sommer) apparently had an affection for the woman, which included potentially showing her favoritism in class. This has led to him being a prime suspect in her disappearance, and while Sherlock does his best to vouch for him in the sneak peek below, that’s not necessarily doing a whole lot to convince the authorities that he is innocent in any wrongdoing here. They have to investigate all leads thoroughly and if it seems as though Harlan made have had a motivation to take her, it’s of course a given that the police are going to look at this as a possibility.
Yet, as we often know with Elementary, cases are rarely so simple and the first suspect in a case is rarely ever the guilty party. We have a feeling here that, when the dust settles, the same is probably going to be proved true here. We don’t have any indication that Harlan is someone who would be capable of doing this sort of crime … but at the same time, we’re rather cognizant that could have still found himself wrapped up in something, or put a target on his back when he really shouldn’t have.
Hopefully, Sherlock is going to be able to get some of the answers that he seeks in this investigation without finding himself too distracted. After all, there are other problems that he could be dealing with here, including a threat from Michael, who he now knows is back in New York.
