Last Man Standing season 7 video: Behind the scenes with Tim Allen, cast
In this short clip, you can see effectively what was going on for the very first day of taping for the season, which happened this past month in the greater Los Angeles area. Tim Allen and the cast reconvened for a premiere episode that hopefully contains a few meta-references to the show’s original run while also continues to push the story of the Baxters onward.
Obviously, there are some changes with season 7, ones that begin with the new network broadcasting the series in Fox. It’s a new home, but one that may be very much supportive. After all, they have a rather-substantial reason to do so given that Fox’s own studio is producing it behind the scenes. There are also some changes to the cast in that Kaitlyn Dever (Eve) will not appear in every episode. Meanwhile, Molly McCook has come on board to replace Molly Ephraim, who played the original iteration of Mandy Baxter — if you head over here, you can see a new photo of her on set.
While there are some things that are different, this video serves as a reminder that the basic goal here is the same. Last Man Standing is still looking to be the same show that you enjoyed the first six seasons; it’s not trying to reinvent a formula that worked rather well the first time. Whether or not it sticks around beyond season 7 remains to be seen, as that is totally going to be up to how it premieres in the ratings. For the time being, though, we do think that there is a reason for optimism given the promotional efforts and also the continued popularity of family sitcoms. They are some of the more stable ones in this genre.
