Following the Timeless movie set to air on NBC a little bit later this year, it looks like there’s going to be another great opportunity to see Goran Visnjic in the near future and it’s on one of our favorite shows!
According to a new report from TVLine, the actor (who you may otherwise know as Garcia Flynn) is going to be appearing in five episodes of Santa Clarita Diet season 3 as Poplavic, a mysterious guy who just so happens to work at the Serbian Embassy. If you watch Santa Clarita Diet with regularity, you likely know that Serbia is important to the central mythology — we don’t want to say more than that for those of you who haven’t watched it yet… and if you’re not watching (and you don’t mind a little gore) we highly recommend this show. It’s a favorite at the Carter household.
If you love Goran’s work, we strongly suggest that you dive in and give this show a watch — it’s ridiculously funny and insanely creative. While of course the cannibalistic aspect of it can be gory here and there, Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant own every single scene that they are a part of it with beautiful comedic timing. It’s one of those shows that you can burn through over the course of a weekend and the time will fly by without you even realizing it. Also, there are some great appearances from unexpected actors sprinkled in there. It’s a show that really excels with the element of surprise.
The third season of Santa Clarita Diet is not expected to premiere on Netflix until 2019 — even though Visnjic is working on this before the Timeless movie, the film is expected to premiere first. A big part of this probably just has to do with Netflix’s habit of releasing all of their episodes of their shows at once. It inevitably takes a little bit more time to get all of them together.
