NCIS: New Orleans alum Shalita Grant to recur on Santa Clarita Diet

Santa Clarita Diet

We always love it when a performer from one show we enjoy greatly signs on to another. Such is the case today with NCIS: New Orleans alum Shalita Grant and Netflix’s Santa Clarita Diet.

According to a new report coming in via Deadline, Grant is signing on for her first major TV role since leaving the CBS procedural, where she will be playing the part of FBI agent Tess Rogers. Why is she in Santa Clarita? Let’s just say it involves an explosion at a local fracking site — if you recall, this was a big storyline for Abby and Eric through most of the end of season 2.

As for whether or not Tess is able to get the answers that she so seeks, we imagine that this is going to be a little bit more difficult than she first imagined. After all, one of the big things that we’ve come to learn over time with Santa Clarita Diet is that somehow, the entire Hammond family is able to almost-constantly get themselves out of trouble, even if you don’t think that there is any way for them to do so. (A great example of that is the cliffhanger involving Joel and Sheila — which may very well be one of the greatest endings to a season that we’ve ever seen in a comedy series.)

Santa Clarita Diet season 3 is poised to premiere on Netflix at some point in 2019. Meanwhile, NCIS: New Orleans season 5 is going to be coming onto CBS at some point in September. While there isn’t too much news as of yet when it comes to what lies ahead for some of the characters there, supposedly the series is casting a new team member following the exit of Grant’s Percy. Unfortunately, there has been any officially casting announced yet.
