Jordana Brewster leaving Lethal Weapon, Clayne Crawford confirms

Lethal Weapon season 2 promoThere is no longer any reason for speculation regarding the future of Jordana Brewster on Lethal Weapon — per Clayne Crawford, she is departing the series.

Speaking on the Drinkin’ Bros podcast (the same one in which he discusses at length his dismissal from the show and some other headlines), Crawford made it official that his former co-star was also leaving the show, where she played the significant role of Dr. Cahill. He noted that the two are at the same management company, and we also know that she has shown support towards him in the past.

The talk around Brewster’s exit formally started earlier this month when she did not appear in the official cast promotional photos for the season, and we also know that she has been booking roles elsewhere. Given that her character shared a number of scenes with Martin Riggs, story-wise it is easy to see how she could be written out — yet, we do think that there also could have been some other ways to write her further into the show, as well. This is just one of those situations where it seems like Lethal Weapon is turning the page, but it’s not altogether clear that this is going to work. There are going to be a number of loyal Clayne or Jordana fans who aren’t as interested in watching the show moving forward, though we are also sure that there are others still interested in giving it a chance.

New episodes of Lethal Weapon are officially set to premiere on Fox a little bit later this fall, and we’ll have some more news on the subject as we start to hear more.
