This Is Us season 3 will have preview special on September 18

This Is Us season 2

You know that you have a hit series when the network starts to do specials themed all around your premiere date launch, and that’s what is happening with This Is Us season 3.

Today, NBC confirmed that there will be a special entitled The Paley Center Salutes This Is Us airing on Tuesday, September 18 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time, following America’s Got Talent and leading up to the premiere of the new season. This special is going to help to set up the events of season 3 with a lot of fun behind-the-scenes teases and tidbits. You get a chance to look at production, check out some memorable moments from the first two seasons, and also see interviews featuring many of the stars as well as the producers working to make the show a success.

Basically, this is NBC’s refresher and a nice introduction to whatever is going to be coming up on the show from here. It’s an essential move for them in so many ways since they want to do everything in their power, and understandably so, to make sure that the viewership is there in droves for season 3. This is the network’s biggest hit at the moment and so far through two years, it’s managed to keep the majority of its audience. This could be the most challenging season yet, largely because that whole mystery revolving around Jack’s death has been resolved and often, shows struggle quite mightily to maintain viewers over time. This Is Us is counting on the investment that you have in the family itself and hoping that it will be enough.

Even if season 3 is not anywhere near as popular as the first two seasons, we still think that it will perform fantastically enough for NBC to be more than happy with it in the years to come. The last thing that we expect is for This Is Us to go anywhere in the near future.
