NCIS alum Michael Weatherly, Cote de Pablo re-teaming for CBS project
According to a report from Deadline, the two former NCIS stars are teaming up again, but this time as executive producers for a detective drama by the name of MIA. The series comes via writer / executive producer Shepard Boucher as well as CBS TV Studios. (Weatherly has an overall deal there with his company Solar Drive Productions.)

As for what the series is about, the logline is as follows: “When a newly minted homicide detective is assigned to an experienced, by-the-book partner to solve cases in Miami, she struggles to keep the personal entanglements of her final undercover assignment from jeopardizing her future.”
Given that Weatherly is currently a series regular over on Bull, it’s hard to really imagine this being a series that he could have a full-time acting role in; yet, depending on production we wouldn’t rule out a guest spot. Whether or not Cote could return to CBS as a series regular (or in any role) also remains unclear. The first order of business here is likely going to be just seeing if this show gets to the pilot phase and from there, whether or not it ends up getting ordered to series. There’s still a lot of hurdles that the show has, but this project is further proof of the strong friendship and working relationship that Michael and Cote have kept since first appearing on NCIS together so many years ago. Cote departed NCIS in season 11, after playing Ziva David ever since the third season. While the character was seemingly killed off, we’ve long professed that since we never saw a body, she may still be out there somewhere. That’s a theory we’re going to hold onto until the series ever chooses to address it.
Both NCIS and Bull are premiering new seasons starting this fall; you can view the latest NCIS news over here.

Since Coty left NCIS with only minimal warning and put the entire production in a bind, I have no interest in seeing her in anything else.
