Younger season 6 premiere date hopes for Sutton Foster, cast
Let’s start by making one thing clear here — there will be a Younger season 6 coming on the network in the future. This is something that was first confirmed earlier this summer, and it wasn’t too much of a surprise. This is the signature show of TV Land both in terms of critical reception and also the ratings. It’s also a show that really retains its viewership very well year to year. This season averaged a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and around 660,000 total viewers. The drops in live viewing from season 4 are fairly minimal, and while we don’t think that Younger is the sort of show that will last forever, we do think that it has potential to stick around for a little bit longer.
One thing that is worth remembering here is that the fourth season of Younger surged in the ratings, so season 5 did a very good job of keeping most of that. It’s one of those shows that benefits heavily from binge-watching and having a continuous story with great, memorable characters who viewers want to keep watching.
As for when season 6 will premiere, our feeling is that summer 2019 is a reasonably good guess. The series has done so well in the summer the past couple of years that there’s no reason to change the timeslot. It was also renewed in plenty of time so that the entire season can be planned out with comfort leading up to its return to the air. Our feeling is that at some point in the spring, TV Land may come out with a specific premiere-date announcement then.
