The Resident season 2 spoilers: Meet Zoey Barlow

The Resident

The Resident season 2 has just brought in another familiar face as an important recurring role — and someone with connections to a patient.

According to TVLine, Daniella Alonso (The Night Shift, Revolution) is set to appear as Zoey Barlow, described as a young single mother battling hard to care for adopted kids. Unfortunately, her struggle is made so much harder by the fact that both of these children have serious, chronic illnesses. It seems like she is the sort of character who is unfortunately going to be spending a lot of time at the hospital, but the good news is that she is going to have the support of a lot of the doctors and nurses at Chastain. They’ll form an emotional connection with her and her family and do whatever they can to help.

Of course, we do certainly think that they would be willing to potentially break the rules here and there for her, largely due to the fact that this is something that we’ve seen them do a few already for patients. Chastain is a place where the people often matter more than the insurance companies, or that’s at least the mantra that Conrad Hawkins and some other characters like to follow. Not everyone among the higher-ups is on the same wavelength, and we do think that one of the most interesting things entering season 2 is that the new powers-that-be (including Conrad’s own father) could try to enforce their own opinions and philosophies on the place as much as possible.
